Biography

2025-26: Produced the best season of her Cal tenure, with the Golden Bear star making a deep NCAA Singles Championship run to finish as the national runner-up and earning her first All-America honor on the way to the final, her first All-ACC First Team (singles) selection and her first CSC Academic All-America First-Team accolade…was also named to the CSC Academic All-District Team for the first time…on the way to the NCAA singles final, the Spaniard — who was ranked No. 113 at the time — defeated four nationally ranked opponents: No. 81 Mayu Crossley (UCLA), 6-1, 6-1 in the round of 64; No. 22 Mia Kupres (Texas A&M), 6-3, 6-2 in the round of 32; No. 74 Gabriella Broadfoot (NC State), 6-4, 6-3 in the round of 16; and No. 67 Emily Welker (Ole Miss), 6-2, 4-6, 7-6(7) in the semifinals…Passola Folch qualified for the NCAA Singles Championship by beating USC’s fourth-seeded Krisha Mahendran 6-2, 7-6(4) to advance to the semifinals of the ITA West Sectional Championships in November in Seattle…she finished her last season as a Bear ranked No. 24 in singles after posting a 29-8 record…was 16-10 in doubles…named an ACC Player of the Week in the fall…defeated Mary Boyce Deatherage 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 to clinch then-No. 21 Cal’s 4-2, third-round win over No. 13 Florida State in the ACC Championship third round and send the Bears to the quarterfinals…that marked Passola Folch’s first clinching win of the season…she finished her Cal career with a singles record of 89-44 and a doubles record of 54-43.

2024-25: Compiled records of 22-12 in singles and 11-14 in doubles…named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and to the All-ACC Academic Team…competed in qualifying singles at the ITA All-American Championships, with the 106th-ranked Bear winning her opener over Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo of Texas 6-1, 6-0 but falling to Georgia's 11th-seeded and 75th-ranked Guillermina Grant 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the second round…advanced to the singles and doubles quarterfinals of the ITA Northwest Regional Championships that Cal hosted at the Hellman Tennis Complex…teamed with Lan Mi to reach the doubles quarterfinal round at the ITA West Sectional Championships in Los Angeles, where Passola Folch also advanced to the consolation singles semifinals…clinched two Cal victories during a 10-match winning streak in the dual-match season…Passola Folch defeated Shiori Ito 6-4, 6-0 to secure a 5-2 win over Syracuse and bested Maria Parra Romero 7-5, 7-2 in a 4-0 win at No. 65 Florida State…the Spaniard also paired with Naomi Xu to clinch the doubles point against Florida State, with the Bears beating Laura Putz and Maelie Monfils 6-4 on court two.

2023-24: The Spaniard ended her second season as a Bear with records of 24-7 (singles) and 22-17 (doubles)…in singles, Passola Folch was 11-1 in dual-match play, including 5-0 in the Pac-12, and was 7-1 on court five…she ended the season winning with six straight singles wins…Passola Folch was ranked twice in doubles with Jessica Alsola in the spring, including at No. 67 in the May 2 ITA poll…she clinched Cal’s 4-3 win at No. 30 Arizona State, beating Rachel Hanford 4-6, 6-1, 6-4…the second-year Bear reached the singles final of the Saint Mary’s Fall Invitational, falling to Cal teammate Lan Mi 7-5, 7-6(2).
 
2022-23: Joined the program in the spring of 2023 and finished the year with records of 14-7 (singles) and 5-2 (doubles)…claimed All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention and ITA Scholar-Athlete distinction…earned her first clinching win at Colorado, defeating Betina Tokac 6-4, 6-0 to wrap up a 4-3 Cal victory.
