BERKELEY – The California field hockey team defeated UC Davis 2-0 on Sunday at Underhill Field, to extend its winning streak to four games to begin the 2024 season on Sunday at Underhill Field.Â

Maya Hoepfner put the finishing touches on the match after scoring her first goal of the season late in the fourth period to extend Cal's lead to 2-0, off assists from freshman
Sophie Everett and van Duyn. Van Dayn now has a team-high four assists on the season.

The Golden Bears held the Aggies to only two shots throughout the game and handed UC Davis its second shutout loss of the season.

Cal will head to Turf Field for its first road ACC game ever in a matchup at No. 3 Virginia in Charlottesville, Va., on Friday at 3:00 p.m. PT. The game will air on ACC Network Extra.
