Bears Continue To Seek First ACC Win

Newton, Mass. – The No.18 California field hockey team (6-4, 0-4 ACC) dropped its road matchup to No. 10 Boston College (9-3, 4-0), 4-0, on Friday at Field Hockey Complex in Newton, Mass.

After a scoreless opening quarter, the action picked up in the second. The Eagles came out the aggressor en route to scoring four goals off eight shots in the frame. Despite earning three saves in the quarter, the Bears couldn't slow down the Eagles' offense. Cal only managed one shot attempt in the frame and trailed 0-4 at the halfway mark.

The Bears continued to fight in the second half despite being unable to find the back of the net. Cal managed to hold the Eagles scoreless throughout the second half and accumulated four saves during that span. Boston College held steady to secure a 4-0 victory.

After facing 12 shots in the game, junior Tina Jolly recorded five saves in 30 minutes. Junior Audrey Post subbed in after halftime and tallied three saves.

Cal will continue its four-game road stint against No. 14 Syracuse on Sunday at 9 a.m. PT.
