Golden Bears Split Pair Of Games In Opening Weekend
CALIFORNIA VISITS NO. 15 STANFORD WEDNESDAY FOR PAC-12 OPENER
— Cal opens Pac-12 action by visiting Stanford on Wednesday with the conference opener its earliest Pac-12 opener ever and its earliest conference opener of any type since opening its 2011 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation slate against UC Davis on Feb. 13
— Stanford has won 20 in a row over the Golden Bears overall and 17 straight in the series at Stanford with the last Cal win coming in Berkeley in 2008 and the last Cal and only Bears victory at Stanford in the first season of the Cal program in 1999
— Wednesday's weather in Stanford calls for clear skies with a temperature of 51 at first draw, dipping into the mid-high 40's during the game, and light westerly winds
MAYA LAWLISS NAMED PAC-12 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Maya Lawliss became the first Cal player in the history of the program to be named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week when the first honor of the 2023 season was announced on Tuesday
— Lawliss combined for eight goals on 13 shots and 12 shots on goal in two contests last week, including a career-high six goals on seven shots in a 17-9 season-opening victory at Lindenwood on Friday
GOLDEN BEARS SPLIT FIRST TWO GAMES LAST WEEK
— Cal started its season with a split in two road games last week, as the Golden Bears were 17-9 winners in their season opener at Lindenwood on Friday for their first season-opening win since 2018, before the Bears fell in a neutral-site game to Central Michigan also played at Lindenwood on Sunday
