Cal at No. 13 Syracuse
California field hockey wraps up its nonconference slate with another weekend against top 15 foes, heading East to Syracuse, N.Y., to face No. 8 Boston College and No. 13 Syracuse. The Golden Bears begin the weekend against the Eagles on Saturday at noon PT/3 p.m. ET, then face the home team Orange on Sunday at 11 a.m. PT/2 p.m. ET. Both games will be played at J.S. Coyne Stadium on the Cuse campus.
The Bears are looking for their first win over a ranked opponent this season as they take on their sixth and seventh top 15-ranked opponents of 2018, respectively. Cal has met each of its ranked opponents besides then-No. 4 Maryland on the road, and the Bears are 0-5 away from Underhill Field. The team has played the nation's toughest schedule to date.

• This is the third weekend this season in which the Golden Bears have back-to-back contests in a two-day span.
• Boston College and Syracuse are the sixth and seventh Top 15 opponents that the Bears have played this season. Cal is 0-5 against ranked opponents, including an 0-2 record against two top 10 teams.

• Last Meeting: A then-No. 17 BC sqaud downed Cal, 5-1, on Oct. 19, 2017 in a neutral-site in Louisville, Ky.
• Series: Boston College leads, 4-0
• Notable: The Bears and Eagles first met on Oct. 29, 1994, when Boston College won 2-1.
• Brooke Matherson paces BC with 15 points on 6 goals and 3 assists.
• Elizabeth Warner and Frederique Haverhals have also put up double-figure point totals this season, each on 4 goals and 2 assists.
• Fusine Govaert also has 4 goals this season.
• Sarah Dwyer owns a bulk of Boston College's minutes in goal, tallying 578 minutes of play and allowing just eight goals. She has a slim 0.97 goals against average and 25 saves with a 7-2 record in the cage.Â

• Tess Queen is Syracuse's leader in assists with 5, and Laura Graziosi and Carolin Hoffman have 3 goals each.
