California returns to the Northwest on Saturday looking for its second victory in as many trips to Washington after a 30-24 victory over the Huskies the last time the Golden Bears visited Seattle on Sept. 26, 2015.

Passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach/recruiting coordinator Marques Tuiasosopo capped his four-year player career at Washington (1997-2000) by finishing eighth in the Heisman Trophy voting as a senior while also earning Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year and Rose Bowl MVP honors. He also served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Huskies from 2009-10 and the quarterbacks coach in 2013 when Justin Wilcox was in his second and final season as the team's defensive coordinator before taking over as the interim head coach in the final game of the season, leading Washington to a victory in the Fight Hunger Bowl.

Devante Downs, a native of the Seattle suburb of Mountlake Terrace, Wash., is a candidate for national and Pac-12 awards honoring the nation's top player and linebacker. He is already a two-time Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week winner this season and leads the Pac-12 in tackles while ranking eighth nationally (10.8 tpg). Downs has a total of 54 stops this season and 201 for his career. Mychal Kendricks was Cal's most-recent Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2011.

Ross Bowers, a native of Bothell, Wash., ranks tied for fourth in the Pac-12 in touchdown passes (9) after three at Oregon last Saturday and fifth in passing yards (271.4 ypg).

Cal is 3-0 when winning the turnover battle and 0-2 when losing the turnover game.

The Bears have trailed in the second half in all three wins this season, including twice in the fourth quarter. Cal shut out Weber State and Ole Miss in the second half.

Matt Anderson has 258 career points and is 30 shy of Doug Brien's record for career scoring (288) while his 47 field goals are nine shy of Brien's career field goals record (56).

Kanawai Noa and Ross Bowers connected on the Pac-12's longest pass play of the season at Oregon last Saturday on a 75-yard touchdown pass. Noa also notched career highs in catches (7) and receiving yards (126) against the Ducks.

Cal is leading its opponents, 27-17, in explosive plays (20 or more yards from scrimmage).
