Cal returns to Berkeley on Saturday for its second straight home game against a nationally-ranked opponent in No. 18/18 Utah after defeating then-No. 11/17 Texas on Sept. 17 for the Golden Bears' first win over a team ranked as high as No. 11 since 2007. Four of Cal's first five opponents in 2016 are at No. 26 or higher in this week's national polls.

The Golden Bears have won six of their last seven games at home. This week's contest will also be Cal's annual homecoming game.

Cal and Utah met last season in Salt Lake City in a game that was featured on ESPN Gameday when both teams were undefeated. The Utes came away with a 30-24 win and they have won the last two meetings, both in Utah. The last time the Utes played the Bears in Berkeley was in 2000, a 24-21 Cal win. These teams also met at AT&T Park in 2011 when that was the designated home field for the Bears while Memorial Stadium was renovated. That contest ended in a 34-10 Cal win.

Cal ranks third nationally and first in the Pac-12 in total offense (594.5 ypg) and 11th nationally and first in the conference in passing yards (459.3 ypg). The Bears also rank 10th in the nation and third in the Pac-12 in scoring offense (45.5 ppg).

Davis Webb leads the nation in passing yards (1,387), passing touchdowns (18), completions (138) and passing attempts (222), while he is second in the nation and first in the Pac-12 in passing yards per game (459.3 ypg) and completions per game (34.50). Through four games as Cal's starter, Webb has completed 138-of-220 for his 1,837 yards and 18 passing touchdowns with four interceptions for a 156.23 passer efficiency rating.

Chad Hansen currently leads the nation in per-game receptions (12.5 rpg) and is second in receiving yards (164.0 rpg). He is also tied for second in touchdown receptions (6). Hansen also ranks 16th in the nation in all-purpose yardage. His 50 receptions through four games equal or exceeds Cal's full-season leader in 25 of the previous 50 seasons. In each of the first four games of the season, Hansen hauled in double-digit receptions and 100 yards receiving. He was added to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List on Sept. 20 following his performance against Texas. Heading into this week's games, Hansen leads the nation in receptions while former Cal receiver and current Detroit Lions' receiver, Marvin Jones, leads the NFL in receiving yards

Cameron Saffle is coming off of a big game at Arizona State last Saturday in which he tied his career high with eight tackles, along with tying his career-high with two sacks against the Sun Devils. He is second on the team in tackles with 28, and tied for third in the Pac-12 in tackles for loss (1.12 tflpg).
