Cal returns to Berkeley this week looking for its third win over a ranked team this season, as fourth-ranked Washington visits the Golden Bears this week. The Golden Bears defeated Washington in Seattle last year, 30-24. A win over Washington would mark Cal's first win over a top-5 team since then-No. 3 USC in 2003.Â
Cal is as also looking for its sixth consecutive home victory and its ninth out of the last 10. Three of Cal's last four remaining regular season contests will be played in Berkeley starting with this week's game.Â
Cal has won its last five home games and eight of its last nine dating back to last season. The first two wins in Berkeley were over ranked opponents – No. 11/17 Texas and No. 18/18 Utah. The winning streak goes back to 2015 with wins over Oregon State and a come-from-behind victory over Arizona State in the regular season finale that ended with a game-winning field goal by
Matt Anderson. The winning streak continued on Oct. 21 with a 52-49 double overtime win over Oregon. The Bears were 5-1 at Memorial Stadium last season.
A win over Washington would mark the first time since 2002 that Cal gained three victories over nationally-ranked teams in a season. Cal's victories over No. 11/16 Texas and No. 18 Utah marked the eighth time since 1970 that Cal has won back-to-back games against ranked teams - 1970, 1990-91, 1991-92, 2002-03, 2006, 2007 and 2009. Cal's longest winning streak against ranked opponents is seven, beginning in the 1947 season through the 1950 season. Based off this week's national polls, No. 4/4 Washington this week and No. 25/25 Washington State next week are the only currently ranked opponents left on Cal's schedule.Â

Demetris Robertson also snared a season-best nine catches (92 yards) on the night.
Cal ranks eighth nationally and first in the Pac-12 in total offense (536.5 ypg), and fourth nationally and second in the conference in passing yards (365.6 ypg). The Bears also rank 14th in the nation and second in the Pac-12 in scoring offense (41.3 ppg).
Davis Webb has accounted for 34 touchdowns through eight games this season, 29 passing and five rushing. The 29 touchdown passes rank second nationally and first in the Pac-12. Through eight games as Cal's starter, Webb is a combined 259-of-415 for 2,914 yards for a 140.60 passer efficiency rating. The passing yards rank seventh in school single-season history while the passer efficiency rating ranks 10th.Â
