Cal faces USC on Thursday evening coming off back-to-back overtime contests for the first time in school history with the Golden Bears a 52-49 winner at home over Oregon six days ago after falling 47-44 in a single extra period at Oregon State on Oct. 8.

Cal's win over Oregon came down to the game's final play when Jordan Kunaczyk interception in the second overtime period gave Cal the victory. Three of Cal's last six victories dating back to its final regular-season win of 2015 have been decided on the game's final play all at Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium with Matt Anderson (game-winning field goal) and James Looney (game-saving tackle on Cal one-yard line) providing the other final-play heroics in wins over Arizona State and Utah.

Cal has rushed for over 300 yards in each of its last two contests at Oregon State (317) and against Oregon (311) with the back-to-back 300-yard rushing games the team's first since the 2004 squad ran for over 300 yards in each its final three regular-season contests.

Tre Watson and Khalfani Muhammad each ran for over 100 yards both at Oregon State and against Oregon to make them the first two Cal players to post back-to-back 100-yard rushing games together since J.J. Arrington and Marshawn Lynch in the ninth and 10th games of 2004 at Washington and against Stanford.
Cal eclipsed both 300 yards passing (325) and rushing (311) against Oregon to mark the second time in the past two years that the Bears have accomplished the feat after having not previously reached the 300-yard mark in both categories since the 12th game of 2004 against Washington.

Cal is the first Pac-12 team to play two consecutive weeknight games with fewer than six days in between with last Friday's home game against Oregon followed by Thursday's road contest at USC.

Cal's contest at USC marks the 15th time in its last 20 true road games dating to 2013 the Bears have started at 6 pm local time or later (does not include 2015 Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl and 2016 College Football Sydney Cup).

Cal is among the nation's top 10 in seven categories – passing offense (2nd, 370.3 ypg), fourth-down conversion percentage (T4th, 15-18, 83.3%), fewest fumbles lost (T4th, 2), total offense (6th, 545.3 ypg), first downs offense (7th, 198) and scoring offense (9th, 43.7 ppg).

Davis Webb is among the top 10 nationally in nine categories – passing attempts (1st, 362), passing TDs (2nd, 27), passing yards per game (3rd, 368.7 ypg), completions (3rd, 225), completions per game (3rd, 32.14 cpg), points responsible for (3rd, 188), points responsible for per game (3rd, 27.1 ppg), passing yards (4th, 2581) and total offense (8th, 356.4 ypg).
