TULSA, Okla. – Andre Goransson booked his spot in in main draw singles at the Saint Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships when he beat Oregon's Kevin Farin on Wednesday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center at the University of Tulsa. The Golden Bear sophomore topped Farin, 7-6(4), 6-4, in the qualifying singles third round.

“Andre got off to a slow start today,” Cal head coach Peter Wright said, “but he was able to turn the match around by putting a lot of pressure on Farin's serve.”

The seventh-ranked team of Cal senior captains Gregory Bayane and Chase Melton will also compete in main draw doubles.

Main draw singles, which features a 64-player field, and main draw doubles, with 32 teams, begin Thursday. Singles quarterfinalists, doubles finalists and consolation champions will receive automatic entry into the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships on Nov. 7-10, held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York.
