1998: played in all 11 games last season, primarily on special teams ... returned one squib kickoff vs. UCLA for 11 yards ... did see some action early in the year at inside linebacker when Matt Beck was sidelined with a hamstring pull ... ended the season with five tackles, including a pair of unassisted stops.
1997: played almost exclusively on special teams in 1997 and had an impact...made a big play in the Oklahoma game, forcing a fumble on a first half kickoff and recovered it himself at the Sooner 14-yard-line...ended the year with two unassisted tackles.
1995-96: came to Cal in 1995 and redshirted, while he was a squad member in '96.
High School/Personal: A prolific tackler at Carson HS where he earned all-city honors as both a junior and senior...set school record with 315 tackles, including a record 174 tackles his senior campaign...helped Carson to city championship, with 20 tackles in the title game...carried a 3.6 GPA at Carson and was a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete...parents are George and Vai Fa'avae...born Dec. 24, 1976 in Los Angeles, CA.
