• Today was celebrated as Spirit of America Day at Memorial Stadium on the anniversary of the events of Sept. 11, 2001, with a pregame flyover by a U.S. Air Force C-5 aircraft, commanded by Major Jayson Huntsman, from Travis Air Force Base.

• Head coach Jeff Tedford recorded his 69th career victory at Cal with today's 52-7 win over Colorado, moving ahead of the legendary Pappy Waldorf on the school's all-time list of games coached at Cal with his 104th outing. Tedford now has both an all-time and Cal coaching record of 69-35 (.663). He currently stands third on the school's all-time win list, four wins behind James Schaeffer (73, 1909-15) and five behind Andy Smith (74, 1916-25). Tedford is one of only eight current FBS coaches to have an active string of at least eight consecutive winning seasons.

• Colorado scored its first points with 2:37 remaining in the 3rd quarter, marking the end of more than 112 minutes of football Cal played without allowing a touchdown to open the 2010 season.

• The Bears have yielded 10 combined points in their first two games, the fewest allowed in the first two contests under Jeff Tedford and the fewest by Cal's opposition since seven points yielded in 1968 (beat Michigan, 21-7, and Colorado, 10-0)

• QB Kevin Riley's four touchdown passes now make him No. 6 all-time at Cal for TDs thrown, moving him above Aaron Rodgers (43), with the last RB Isi Sofele's first career TD reception. Riley also threw four TD passes in the 2009 season opener vs. Maryland. Riley has now thrown for three or more TDs on seven occasions in his Cal career, including last week vs. UC Davis. Riley was also the last Bear to achieve back-to-back three-TD-pass games: at UCLA and vs. Washington State in 2009. Today was Riley's 10th straight game with at least one TD pass. Riley's 5,228 career passing yards are ninth all-time at Cal. He is 241 passing yards away from Aaron Rodgers' all-time total.

• TB Shane Vereen now has a streak of 28 games- every one of his collegiate games - with at least one reception. Vereen made a TD catch to score Cal's first points for the second straight week.

• WR/KR Keenan Allen had a game-high five receptions for 57 yards (29 long) and a TD. Contrasting Allen's second career game to that of DeSean Jackson, Jackson started the second game of his career in 2005 against Washington, but recorded no stats.

• WR Marvin Jones set a new career best with a 62-yard reception and had a touchdown catch for the second straight week. He currently has a 15-consecutive-game streak with at least one catch going back through every game in 2009.

• LB Mike Mohamed picked off a pass and returned it for a touchdown late in the first half, his seventh career interception and the second in his career returned for a TD (vs. UCLA in 2008). He is now Cal's active career interceptions leader. Mohamed's 14 tackles equaled his career high, previously reached in 2008 vs. Oregon. He exited today's game with 266 career tackles, No. 8 all-time at Cal.

• The Bears defense recorded six sacks. Last time Cal had five or more sacks was in 2009, with five against Washington State and six against Maryland.

• Cal ended +5 in turnovers, taking away three INTs and two fumble recoveries. The last time the Bears forced 5 or more turnovers was vs. Washington on Oct. 21, 2006.

• DB Darian Hagan broke up the Buffs' first pass attempt of the day and recovered a fumble on the Buffs' final pass attempt, returning it 82 yards for a TD.

• DB Bryant Nnabuife made his first career interception in the second quarter.

• LB Mychal Kendricks recorded his first sack of the season in the first quarter. On the next play he made a fumble recovery, the third of his career (also in 2009 vs. Eastern Washington and at Oregon), following a LB Jarred Price sack and forced fumble.

• LB Jarred Price had a cereer-high four tackles to go with his career-high two sacks and first collegiate forced fumble.

• DL Cameron Jordan notched his first sack of the season.

• DB Marc Anthony finished with a career-high seven tackles.

• DB Steve Williams notched his first career interception.

• With Cal's three interceptions, the Bears equaled their highest INT total since Sept. 19, 2009, at Minnesota. The last time Cal had more than three pickoffs was Oct. 25, 2008, with 4 vs. UCLA.

• The Bear defense finished with 10.0 tackles for loss. Cal's best last year was 11.0 TFL, setting the mark twice in 2009: vs. Maryland, 9/5/09, and vs. Oregon State 11/7/07.

• The Bears scored 31 points off of Colorado turnovers.

• The Bears led 31-0 at halftime. Cal's 35-0 lead over UC Davis in Week One was the last time the Bears notched a first-half shutout (won, 52-3); prior to that, it was the first half on Oct. 1, 2005, vs. Arizona, 14-0 (won 28-0).

• WR/KR Jeremy Ross contributed two punt returns for 33 yards (23 long) along with one 27-yard reception. Ross now has a career punt-return average 20.0 yards per return (14 PRs, 280 yards), putting him on track to become Cal's all-time leader in the category. DeSean Jackson averaged 16.7 ypr in his collegiate career.

• P Bryan Anger booted four punts for a 48.2 average, with a long of 66 and two punts inside the 20.

• 2010 is the third year during the Tedford era that Cal has begun its season with two straight home games, with the Bears winning those two-game stretches on all three occasions. In 2002, Tedford's first year at the helm, the Bears defeated Baylor, 70-22, and New Mexico State, 34-13. Last fall, Cal routed Maryland, 52-13, and Eastern Washington, 59-7. Last week, Cal kicked off 2010 with a 52-3 home victory over UC Davis.

• Cal has now posted an overall record of 35-6 (.853) at Memorial Stadium over its last 41 games dating back to the final two home contests of 2003. In fact, Cal is a perfect 35-0 at home over this period against teams other than Oregon State (0-4) and USC (0-3), who have combined to go 7-0 at Memorial Stadium since the Bears knocked off the Trojans at home in 2003. Cal has been unbeaten at home in a season three times (2004, '06, '08) under head coach Jeff Tedford. The Golden Bears' appeal is shown by a current streak of 39 games with at least 50,000-plus fans in attendance at Memorial Stadium (every contest over the last seven seasons), including 55,440 against Colorado.

• Cal has now appeared on live television 46 times in its last 47 contests with the lone exception the Bears' home contest vs. Washington State on Oct. 24, 2009, snapping a string of 38 straight games on television. A total of 88 games have been televised over the last nine seasons during the Jeff Tedford era. Cal had every game of a season televised for the first time in 2007 and then repeated the feat in 2008.

• Today was the 30th straight game in which the Bears won when scoring 30 or more points. The last time the Bears did not win when scoring at least 30 was on Oct. 8, 2005, vs UCLA (47-40) Today was the 57th game under Jeff Tedford that Cal has scored at least 30 points - the Bears are 53-4 in those games.

• Cal takes a 3-2 lead in the all-time series between the Golden Bears and Buffaloes. Cal now has a 16-20-1 record in 37 all-time games against schools currently in the Big 12.
