COLUMBUS, Ohio -
California lost to No. 16 Ohio State, 18-5, in a nonconference game on Tuesday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The Golden Bears' record fell to 4-7 after losing their fourth straight game and dropping to 3-4 in the all-time series with Ohio State. The Buckeyes improved to 8-1.
Senior attacker Sam Price led Cal with two goals. Junior defender DennaFaye Herald, freshman midfielder Vail Horn and junior attacker Tighe Hutchins each contributed one goal, while Herald and senior midfielder Elizabeth T Jahp had one assist each.
Ohio State's Kelly Haggerty led all scorers with eight goals and 10 points.
"We're going through a rough patch," Cal head coach Theresa Sherry said. "We have to figure out a way to turn things around for our conference games coming up and get ready for this weekend. We have to move on pretty quickly. We have to find a way to win."
Cal concludes its road trip with a game against MPSF foe Denver at noon on Saturday, March 28, in Denver.
