Final Stats

BERKELEY - The California field hockey team (4-5, 1-0 NorPac) beat Stanford (2-8, 1-1 NorPac) 1-0 Saturday evening in Berkeley at Maxwell Family Field. This match counts towards this season's Lexus Gauntlet all-sports contest between Cal and Stanford.

Freshman Andrea Lo's winning goal came off a penalty corner in the final five minutes of the game; junior Valentina Godfrid was credited with the assist. This was the fourth goal of the season for the native of British Columbia.

Cal out shot Stanford 9-3 in the game; Stanford was held to only one shot attempt in the second period. Godfrid led the Golden Bears with four shot attempts, Lo had two attempts, and senior Chilly Banuelos and sophomore Jenny Crane both tallied one attempt each.

The Bears will travel next to Pacific on Friday, Sept. 23. Match time is slated for 3 p.m. (PST).
