Sophomore forward Valentina Godfrid scored at the 94-minute, one second mark in overtime to lift the No. 15 California Field Hockey team to a 2-1 victory against Stanford at the Cardinal's Varsity Field Hockey Turf on Saturday.
The victory was Cal's seventh in a row. The Bears (11-2, 3-1 NorPac West) haven't lost since falling to Southwest Missouri State, 1-0, in overtime Sept. 8.
The Cardinal (5-6, 0-2) took a 1-0 lead at 21:36 on backfielder Aska Sturdevan's fourth goal of 2004.
Junior forward Teela Crosthwaite's fourth goal of the season tied the match for Cal at the 58:32 mark. Godfrid was credited with the assist.
The Bears outshot Stanford, 25-4, and recorded 13 penalty corners to the Cardinal's two.
Cal goalkeeper Kelly Knapp recorded two saves in the victory.
The Bears are 3-2 in overtime matches ths season.
Cal returns to action Oct. 2 at Pacific. The Bears defeated the Tigers, 3-1, Sept. 18.
