Bears Fall to Spiders, 16-11

RICHMOND, Va. - The Cal women's lacrosse team dropped its second game in a row on Sunday to the host Richmond Spiders, 16-11. The Golden Bears fall to 2-4 on the season and 0-2 on their mini two-game road trip.
The Spiders and Bears exchanged the first two goals of the game, but then Richmond scored five of the next seven goals, building a five-goal lead in the first half. The Spiders were able to ride their early lead to the end, winning 16-11.
The Bears were led by Molly Brady and Julianne Wu, who both converted three goals. Ashley Friend paced Richmond with five points (3 goals, 2 assists).
The Bears return home this week and take on George Washington at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, at Memorial Stadium.
