Cal Men's Tennis Beat Oklahoma, 4-3
BERKELEY, Calif. - The Bears doubles teams swept the Sooners to put the Bears up and over Oklahoma 4-3. After the two teams split singles action 3-3 the Bears were able to win all their doubles matches to post a 4-3 win over the Sooners.
Bobby Mahal and Nathan Jackmon teamed up at number one doubles for an 8-4 win over Chris Barkla and Dusty Beard. David Sutton and Chris Santoso out played Sooners Chris Santoso and Rick Warren 8-6. Alex Sueur and Minh Le completed the sweep in doubles after dropping Adam Neal and Craig Pettigrove 9-7.
In singles action the teams were dead even at 3-3. Oklahoma's Adam Neal needed three sets to get by Cal's Chris Santoso 7-5, 6-7, 6-3. Mahal, Sueur and Sutton all recorded wins for the Bears in singles play.
