Sun Devils End Bears' Season at NCAA Regionals
MALIBU, Calif. - The Cal men's tennis team falls to fourth-seeded Arizona State Friday at the NCAA Region VIII Championships at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.
The Bears, the fifth seed in the tournament lost 4-2 and finish the season with a record of 10-13. Arizona State (13-9) advances to the semifinals against top-seed Pepperdine Saturday at 1 p.m.
Cal had two singles wins. David Sutton beat Ed Carter 6-3, 6-2 in No. 4 singles and at No. 6 singles, Brian Fernando beat Casey Was 6-2, 6-2. Also recording a win was the No. 3 doubles of Adam Gross and Minh Le who beat Tim Hammond and Gustavo Marcaccio 9-7.
