Barnes, Raiszadeh and Kintz all Advance to Round of 32 at All American Tournament
AUSTIN, Texas -- Three of the five University of California men's tennis players entered in the prequalifying rounds of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championships have advanced after the first two days of competition in Austin, Texas
Adrian Barnes, Kian Raiszadeh and Scott Kintz are all still alive and on the verge of qualifying for the tournament with Barnes having already advanced all the way into the round of 16. David Sutton and Erik Dmytrik, while winning three matches each, both fell in their fourth round match-ups. Sutton was ousted by Alex Aybar of Tyler Junior College, 6-3, 6-2 and Dmytrik was bounced by Myles Clouston of Wake Forest, 6-4, 6-1.
Qualifying for the main draw of the ITA All-American Championships continues tomorrow with Barns facing Jason Cook of UCLA, Raiszadeh taking on Jorge Aldrete of Idaho and Kintz meeting Weylu Chang of Alabama.
