Bay Area Classic: The University of California and University of San Francisco women's golf teams will host the first Bay Area Classic Monday and Tuesday, March 3-4 at the Hiddenbrooke Country Club in Vallejo, Calif. The 17-team tournament will feature 36-holes with tee times beginning at 8:00 a.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Tournament Field: The complete tournament field includes: Arkansas, Boise State, Brigham Young, California, Cal State Northridge, Colorado State, Eastern Washington, Hawaii, Kansas, Long Beach State, Northern Arizona, Sacramento State, San Diego State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Weber State and Wyoming.

About Hiddenbrooke: The Hiddenbrooke Country Club course is an Arnold Palmer Signature Course that opened in the fall of 1996, and was nominted as one of the Best New Courses in 1996 according to Golf Digest Magazine. Hiddenbrooke is located in Vallejo, Calif., about 45 minutes north of Oakland. The course will play to 5,803 yards for this tournament, and carry a par of 72.

Head Coach Nancy Mcdaniel: Nancy McDaniel is in her second season as head coach of the Golden Bears. The Bears finished 10th in the Pac-10 in 1996, the team's inaugural season of collegiate competition. One of the most successful golfers ever to compete at the University of Washington, McDaniel served as team captain as a senior and earned one All-American and two Pac-10 All-Star team selections before graduating with a public relations degree in 1988. McDaniel is a former professional player on the European, Ladies Asian and Players West Golf Tours.
