A powerful Pepperdine team moved to 23-2 on the season with a 5-2 victory over Cal's Golden Bears at the Hellman Tennis Courts on Wednesday afternoon.
The Waves salvaged one victory on a Bay Area swing with the win over the Golden Bears, after losing to Stanford on Tuesday.
California fell behind 1-0 with a Pepperdine sweep of the doubles matches and then all six of the singles matches were two-set affairs with the Bears only able to capture victories at the No. 3 and 6 spots.
Robert Kowalczyk downed Sebastien Graeff of Pepperdine by identical 6-3 margins while Cal's David Tzou swept past Pepperdine's John Hui at No. 6 with a 7-5, 6-1 victory.
Cal No. 1 Erik Dmytruk had a tough outing against Pepperdine's Robert Kendrick who emerged with no trouble in a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
The Bears face Los Angeles foes, USC and UCLA this weekend.
