Cal Tennis Posts 6-1 Win over Harvard

Berkeley - The Cal men's tennis team ran its record to 7-4 on the season with a 6-1 victory over Harvard at the Hellman Tennis Complex in Berkeley Wednesday afternoon.

The Bears No. 1 doubles team of Erik Dmytruk and Scott Kintz easily defeated Harvard's Joe Green and John Doran by a score of 8-4. That win gives the Cal duo a doubles record of 13-6 this season and 5-3 at the No. 1 doubles slot in dual matches. With wins at No. 2 and 3, the Bears earned the doubles point to start the match.

Cal came within one set of also sweeping the singles competition. The Bears earned straight set victories by John Paul Fruttero at No. 2, Scott Kintz at No. 5 and David Tzou at No. 6. Harvard's line victory was posted by Dave Lingman at No. 3.

The Bears have a pair of Pac-10 matches on tap this weekend, hosting Arizona State on Friday in Berkeley and Arizona on Saturday.
