A walk-on to the varsity crew midway through her freshman year, Liz Lee rowed for Cal from 2002-06. A varsity 4+ three-year veteran, Lee and the varsity 4+ took second place in the Pac-10 Championships in 2004. In 2005, Liz and the varsity 4+ took fourth in the NCAA final, helping propel Cal to its first NCAA team championship in women's crew. In 2006, Lee and her teammates in the varsity 4+ placed second in the NCAA final, helping Cal repeat as the NCAA team champion. She was a multi-year Pac-10 All-Academic Team designee, graduating with honors in 2006.
Lee maintains a busy full-time work schedule in the field of laser archeology in addition to her work with Cal crew. A Bay Area native, Lee graduated from Leland High School in San Jose, Calif., where she enjoyed pole vaulting, cross country and soccer.
