California women's rowers Ella Wheeler, Minou Bouman and Olivia Roth have been awarded All-American honors, announced by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) on Friday. Wheeler was named to the first team while Bouman and Roth each notched second team recognitions.

Twelve student-athletes were also named CRCA Scholar-Athletes – Lily Abbott, Annie Brown, Madeline Cox, Zara Hoadley, Julia Irmler, Star Rose Miller, Allegra O'Sullivan, Kira Obsitnik, Alexandra (Alex) Pearson, Vivi Spitz, Lotta van Westreenen and Wheeler.

The Golden Bear All-American trio rowed in the varsity eight, which claimed the bronze at the ACC Championship and finished second in the petite final at the NCAA Championship. Other highlights from the season for the V8+ included a pair of race wins over No. 5 Washington at the Big Ten Invitational and victories over No. 12 Rutgers, No. 17 Michigan and No. 20 UCLA at the same event. The Bears' performance that week landed them ACC Crew of the Week honors for the first time in program history since joining the conference last season. The crew also finished third in the Jessop-Whittier Cal Cup grand final at the San Diego Crew Classic at the start of the season.

Wheeler, a junior from South Orange, New Jersey, has rowed in the Golden Bears' varsity eight the last three years. This is her first CRCA All-America nod, after also picking up her first nod from the conference as an All-ACC First Team honoree. Wheeler also competes on the international stage for the United States, most recently competing for Team USA's women's eight at the U23 World Rowing Championships last summer.

Bouman, a senior from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, has been named to the CRCA All-America second team for the second consecutive season. She was also named to the All-ACC Second Team earlier this year and was a 2026 ACC Preseason Watch List member. Bouman has been a mainstay in the Bears' V8+ lineup for the last four years. She also competes for The Netherlands on the world stage, most recently competing at the 2025 U23 World Rowing Championships in the women's eight. She featured in the women's four at the 2024 U23 World Rowing Championships and the women's eight the year prior.

Roth, a sophomore from Berikon, Switzerland, sat in the stroke seat for the Bears' V8+ for almost every race this season. As a freshman last season, she competed in the second varsity eight before getting the call-up to Cal's top boat this season. Roth is also no stranger to international competition, having competed for Switzerland at the 2025 World Rowing Championships and 2025 World Rowing Cup (Lucerne) in the women's quadruple sculls and in the double sculls at the 2025 World Rowing Cup (Varese). She also featured on the Swiss U23 crews from 2022-24 in the women's pair and double sculls events.

The CRCA All-American Awards recognize the most outstanding collegiate rowers and coxswains across all NCAA divisions and the lightweight category. Rowers selected have demonstrated elite athletic performance, leadership, consistency, and dedication throughout the season, earning distinction among the top rowers in the nation.

To qualify for CRCA Scholar-Athlete designation, a student-athlete must meet both academic and athletic requirements, including being in at least their second year of eligibility and maintaining an average cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher. Additionally, student-athletes must have rowed in their institution's NCAA boats for a minimum of 75% of spring races or race in an NCAA boat at their conference championship/NCAA Championship.
