FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A pair of jumpers from the California track & field team finished their 2026 campaigns Friday at John McDonnell Field, with juniors Victor Ezike Jr. (high jump) and Jeremiah Bolaños (triple jump) acting as the Golden Bears' final male competitors of the week on Day 3 of the NCAA West Regionals.

Ezike cleared the opening bar of 2.07m (6-9.5) on his first attempt but missed his next three tries at 2.12m (6-11.5) to end his 2026 campaign, having reached the regional stage for the first time in his career.

Bolaños fouled his first attempt before following up with marks of 14.68m (48-2) and 15.04m (49-4.25) to close out his second consecutive regional meet.

The Bears currently have four individuals – two men and two women – headed to the NCAA Outdoor Championships on June 10-13: decathlete Seth Johnson, long jumper Trevor Rogers, hammer thrower Valentina Savva and pole vaulter Ali Sahaida. Two Cal women (hurdler Inara Ukawuba and triple jumper Avery Hart) will compete Saturday for the chance to join them.
