Johnson Posts 5-PR Day At Mt. SAC
Decathlete Finishes Day 1 With 4045 Points

Seth Johnson posted the outing of his life Wednesday at the Mt. SAC Relays, kicking off a four-day stretch of competition for the Golden Bears with five personal bests in the elite decathlon field at Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
Johnson's day started off with a time of 10.82 in the 100m, followed by a leap of 6.91m (22-8) in the long jump and a throw of 12.72m (41-8.75) in the shot put. He then cleared 2.02m (6-7.5) in the high jump, good for third place, and closed out the afternoon with a top-five time of 48.61 in the 400m.
Currently, Johnson holds a total of 4045 points, fifth-best in the competition. He will need to surpass 3270 on Friday to record a new personal best and 3308 to crack the Bears' top-10 all-time list.
Cal alum and U.S. indoor heptathlon champion Hakim McMorris currently sits atop the standings with 4430 points, recording wins in the 100m (10.49), the long jump (7.63m/25-0.5) and 400m (46.50).
