No. 14 Cal Selected To Tempe Regional
Bears Bound For 13th Consecutive Postseason Appearance
California women's gymnastics has earned the No. 14 overall seed in the 2026 NCAA Championships, announced by the NCAA live on ESPNU Monday morning. The Golden Bears will head to the Tempe Regional on April 2 and 5 at the Desert Financial Arena in Tempe, Arizona. This is the Golden Bears' 13th consecutive postseason appearance and first under first-year head coach
Geralen Stack-Eaton.
Â
Cal will take on No. 3 Florida and Penn State, in addition to the winner of the play-in between host Arizona State and Arizona, in the second session of the regional on April 2. The quad meet is slated for 7 p.m. PT and will be shown live on ESPN+. The top two teams of the quad meet will advance to Saturday's regional final, which is scheduled for 1 p.m. PT.
Â
The other side of the bracket features No. 6 Georgia, No. 11 Michigan State, Brigham Young and Southern Utah, which will compete in the first session of the Tempe Regional.
Â
The top two finishers of the regional final will advance to the national championship in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 16-18 at Dickies Arena.
Â
Cal is one of five ACC teams to advance to the postseason and is the second-highest seed among conference opponents. Â
Â
Last season, the Bears finished third at the 2025 Tuscaloosa Regional. Cal won back-to-back regional championships in the two years prior, topping the 2023 Pittsburgh Regional and the 2024 Berkeley Regional, in which the Bears had four regional event champions, and went on to have their highest finish in program history as the 2024 NCAA Championship runners-up.
