Bears To Make First Appearance At Georgia Tech

The California women's basketball team (13-10, 4-6 ACC) will look to start the second half of ACC play strong when it heads to play at Georgia Tech at McCamish Pavilion on Thursday at 4 p.m. PT.
 
This marks the second overall meeting between the two programs, with Cal having won the previous matchup in a 79-65 victory at Cal last year, and the Bears' first-ever trip to Atlanta.
 
Georgia Tech is currently 10-13 overall (5-6 ACC) and is led by first-year head coach Karen Blair, who came from Maryland after leading the Terps to five straight NCAA appearances. The Yellow Jackets feature Talayah Walker, who leads the team in scoring (16.3 points per game), and Brianna Turnage, who is ranked second in the ACC in rebounding (9.8).
 
Thursday's game will steam on ACCNX with Andrew Selover and Fallon Stokes on the call.

  • Led the ACC in points (52), assists (21) and 3-pointers (12).

  • Averaged a double-double at 26.0 points, 10.5 assists and 6.0 3-pointers.

At Boston College:
  • Became the only player in the NCAA not named Caitlin Clark (4 times) to post 36 points, eight 3-pointers and nine assists in a game (since at least 2002-03 according to Stathead)
  • The eight 3-pointers were second most in a game in program history (Asha Thomas: 9 vs Manhattan on Nov. 24, 2017), the second most by an ACC player this season and tied for the seventh most in ACC history.
  • The 36 points were the most by a Cal player since 2018 (Kristine Anigwe: 37 vs Houston on Nov. 6).
  • Became just the fifth player in program history to score at least 36 points in a game.
At Syracuse:
  • Posted first career double-double with 16 points and a career-high 12 assists along with four triples for second consecutive game.
  • Became just the fifth ACC player to have 12 assists in a game this season.
  • Became just the seventh player in Cal history with 12 assists in a game.
  • Nailed two crucial 3-pointers in the final 21 seconds of the first overtime (including one with .3 seconds left) to force double-overtime.
