BERKELEY – The No. 10 California beach volleyball made its 2026 home debut Friday and recorded a pair of shutouts on the first day of the Battle of the Bay at the Clark Kerr Sand Courts.

The Golden Bears defeated Sac State and UC Davis, both by 5-0 counts.

Cal (3-4) dropped just one set over both duals.

Sophomore Bella Adishian made her Cal debut against Sac State, teaming up with Grace Hong to win on Court 4, 21-10, 21-12. Mila Yarich, a transfer from Yale, also registered her first victory at Cal after pairing with Elle Evers against the Aggies on Court 5 to win, 21-13, 21-12.

Reigning AVCA/CBVB National Pair of the Week Emma Donley and Portia Sherman won each of their matches on the top court in straight sets.

The Bears conclude the Battle of the Bay on Saturday with duals against USF and Pacific.
