STANFORD- The No. 9 California beach volleyball team split its Friday duals to star the Stanford Invite in Stanford, CA. The Golden Bears (23-7) blanked No. 19 Washington for their program-record 12th straight win before falling to No. 3 Stanford 4-1.
 
With her court-five win against the Huskies, senior Ella Dreibholz became the first Bear to reach 100 career wins. Cal's all-time wins leader now boasts a record of 100-38. Junior Marilu Pally reached a personal milestone picking up a pair of wins to get to 50 in her career.
 
The Bears won all but one set against UW giving them 14th sweep of the season and fourth against a ranked opponent. With two unranked opponents on the docket tomorrow, Cal ends the regular season with 12 ranked wins.
 
Sophomore Emma Donley and junior Portia Sherman picked up their 24th win on court one improving their record to 24-5.
 
Cal only won one first set against the host Cardinal, but battled in dual that featured a trio of three-set matches. Stanford took the top four courts, but the court-five duo of Pally and Somera refused to let the Bears suffer their first sweep of the season. Despite trailing 5-0 to start the third set, Pally Somera bounced back to make it 5-5 at the break. They trailed once again at 8-6 but went on a run to win the match 21-15, 19-21, 15-13.
 
This was Cal's first loss of the season that did not come by a score of 3-2.
