Lauzon Places Third At NCAA Championships

Senior Earns Second Straight Balance Beam Bronze

FORT WORTH, Tex. – Senior Mya Lauzon of the California women's gymnastics team finished third place in the balance beam at the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas Thursday night.

Lauzon capped off her collegiate career with a pair of stellar routines in the floor exercise and balance beam. The Golden Bears rotated with UCLA, which began the night on floor.

The ACC Gymnast of the Year collected a 9.9125 that put her in a tie for 6th place. That score put a bow on an incredible senior season of that event as she scored a 9.90 or better on all 16 of her floor routines.

Senior Maddie Williams competed in the uneven bars, but due to an uncharacteristic mistake on her dismount received a 9.525.

The final routine of Lauzon's collegiate career was one to remember as she hit for a 9.95 and was given a perfect 10 by one of the six judges. As she did in 2024, Lauzon left with one last piece of hardware earning the bronze medal.
