FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Senior Leah Polonsky continued to make her final NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships a memorable one Friday, carving up California's record book for the second straight day and registering another top-5 finish at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.

Polonsky placed fourth in the 200-yard freestyle, following up her third-place performance in the 200 individual medley on Thursday. Polonsky's time of 1:41.85 in the 200 free finals is the fourth-best mark ever by a Golden Bear swimmer in the event, better than the likes of Cal legends Natalie Coughlin and Abbey Weitzeil.

Polonsky was also the No. 4 qualifier in the 200 free during Friday morning's prelims, swimming what at the time was the No. 6 mark all-time at Cal at 1:42.60. On Thursday, she swam the No. 3 all-time mark at Cal in the 200 IM during prelims before moving up to No. 2 on the list in the finals.

Polonsky was one of two Cal swimmers to reach the championship final of an event Friday, as freshman Mary-Ambre Moluh also qualified for the A-final in the 100 backstroke. Moluh placed seventh with a time of 51.13 while fifth-year senior Isabelle Stadden finished second in the B-final of the event to place 10th overall. Stadden has now earned nine All-American honors in the 100 back during her career.

Senior Lilou Ressencourt also scored points for the Bears in the 100 butterfly, placing fifth in the B-final (13th overall) with a time of 51.19. Her prelim time of 51.18 is No. 10 all-time at Cal. The Bears' 400 medley relay team of Stadden, Polonsky, Ressencourt and Moluh placed 11th with the ninth-best time in Cal history – 3:28.23.

Entering Saturday's final day of the 2025 NCAA Championships, the Bears sit in eighth place in the overall team standings with 139.5 points. The 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 1,650 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay all all still to be raced. Stadden is the No. 5 seed in the 200 backstroke while graduate student Maya Geringer is seeded seventh in the 1,650 freestyle.
