GREENSBORO, N.C. – The No. 6 California women's swimming & diving team wrapped up its first-ever ACC Championship on Saturday, getting a runner-up finish from graduate student Maya Geringer in the 1,650-yard freestyle and placing fourth in the team standings.

Geringer swam the 1,650 free in a time of 15:51.01, bettering her season-best mark that ranks No. 2 all-time at Cal.

Fifth-year senior Isabelle Stadden also reached the podium with a third-place finish in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:50.30. Stadden won three individual championships in the 200 back when the Golden Bears were members of the Pac-12.

Freshman Mary-Ambre Moluh advanced to the A-final and placed eighth in the 100 freestyle with a time of 48.39. Fellow freshman Violet Williamson placed 14th in platform diving with a score of 238.20 – the eight-best mark ever at Cal.

Four-time defending NCAA champion Virginia won its sixth consecutive ACC championship and Stanford placed second. Louisville was third.

The Bears now turn their attention to the NCAA Championships, set for March 19-22 in Federal Way, Wash.
