KAILUA-KONA, Hawai'I – The California women's golf team ended the fall season in strong fashion Wednesday, finishing in fifth place in the competitive 11-team field at the Nanea Invitational.

The Golden Bears shot 3-under par as a team, marking the second consecutive tournament they have gone under par. Cal hasn't strung together back-to-back tournaments of par or under since the Molly Collegiate Invitational and Ron Moore Intercollegiate in September and October of 2023.

The Nanea Invitational featured four teams ranked in the top 25, including all four teams that finished ahead of the Bears. Cal also placed one spot ahead of No. 17 UCLA, which was three shots behind the Bears at even-par.

Cal shot even-par as a team Wednesday to hold steady at 3-under for the tournament.

Freshman Michelle Woo, who led the Bears in scoring average during the fall, was Cal's top individual finisher in a tie for 26th place. She carded a 1-under par 72 on Wednesday to finish at even-par for the tournament.

No. 1 Stanford won the team tournament title at 44-under par.

The Bears are now off until the beginning of the spring season, which gets underway in early February at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes.
