KAILUA-KONA, Hawai'I – Fresh off a victory at the St. Andrews Links Collegiate earlier this month, the California women's golf team had its best round of the season for the second consecutive stroke play round and stands tied for fourth place after the first day of the Nanea Invitational at the Nanea Golf Club on the Big Island in Hawai'i.

The Golden Bears shot 5-under as a team Monday, duplicating its effort in the final stroke play round of the St. Andrews Links Collegiate. Senior Adora Liu and junior Constance Fouillet led the way for Cal, each shooting a 2-under par 71 on the par-73, 6,449-yard course to tie for 16th individually and six shots off the lead. Freshman Michelle Woo is among a group tied for 24th at 1-under par. Four of the Golden Bears' five golfers shot par or better Monday.

Fouillet, who set the women's record at the 473-year old Old Course at St. Andrews with a 9-under 63, recorded five birdies. Liu led Cal with six birdies on the day.

Auburn leads the tournament after one round at 21-under par.
