Lee Reaches Main Draw At ITA NW Regionals
Freshman Bear Won Thursday To Advance
STOCKTON - California men's tennis freshman Winston Lee won in singles qualifying Thursday to advance to the main draw of the ITA Northwest Regional Championship at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
Lee was the top seed in the singles qualifying draw, which gained him a bye in the first round. Lee defeated Sebastian Vlahos of Sacramento State 6-2, 6-1 to qualify for the main draw.
Lee will join seven teammates in the main draw – fourth-seeded Tiago Silva, sixth-seeded Fryderyk Lechno-Wasiutynski, Nos. 9-16 seeds Bernardo Munk Mesa, Paris Pouatcha, Lenn Luemkemann, and Timofey Stepanov, and Alex Aney.
Additionally, the Bears will feature four pairs in the doubles main draw at regionals including top-seeded and seventh-ranked Silva and Stepanov, as well as Nos. 9-16 seed Lechno-Wasiutynski and Luemkemann. Both singles and doubles main draws begin Friday.
