STANFORD – It didn't matter the distance – California fifth-year senior Isabelle Stadden was the best backstroker in the pool on Friday afternoon at Avery Aquatic Center.

Stadden, an eight-time All-American in backstroke events during her career, swept all three backstroke races during a non-team scoring triple distance meet against the Cardinal. She took the 50-yard backstroke in a time of 24.62, the 100 back in 52.82 and the 200 back in 1:55.71.

Senior McKenna Stone was a double-winner for the No. 8 Golden Bears, tying for the win in the 50 freestyle with a mark of 23.53 while also leading off Cal's victorious 200 free relay team that also included senior Ella Mazurek, junior Morgan Brophy and senior Leah Polonsky (1:32.58).

The Bears are now until Nov. 7 when they take on Stanford and Arizona State in a tri-meet at ASU.
