BERKELEY – Vivian Glozman's straight-set singles win clinched California's eventual 7-0 victory over Utah on Sunday in a Pac-12 Conference match that spanned two days at the Hellman Tennis Complex. Under partly cloudy but rain-free skies, the Golden Bear freshman beat Taylor Calton, 6-4, 6-1, on court four to secure the win.

The Bears won the final three matches in 10-point tiebreaks to make the final score 7-0.

Cal improved to 7-5 overall and 3-1 in the Pac-12. Utah is now 8-6 (1-2 Pac-12).

The Bears won the doubles point on Saturday when Cal juniors Olivia Hauger and Maria Smith beat Calton and Whitney Turley, 7-6(1), on court two. The match had moved well into singles when rain hit and eventually forced a delay until Sunday morning.

On Sunday, Cal junior Olivia Hauger – ranked 32nd in singles – quickly dispatched Brianna Chisholm, 6-2, 6-1, on court two. The 35th-ranked Anna Bright followed with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Alexia Petrovic on court one to give the Bears a 3-0 lead before Glozman won.

Since the match was already clinched, the last three singles matches went to 10-point tiebreaks instead of third sets. Cal junior Maria Smith beat Jena Cheng, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0(0), freshman Hana Mraz posted the second dual-match win of her young career with a 6-3, 5-7, 1-0(6) result on court five, and freshman Jasie Dunk ended the day with a 4-6, 6-4 1-0(10) win over Utah's Victoria Robertson.

"It's great to get another conference victory and great to get another victory here at home at Hellman," Cal head coach Amanda Augustus said. "We had some weather-related challenges, but credit to this team; I think they handled it well."

"I'm really proud of the resilience that we showed today coming back out towards the end of the first set of a lot of the matches and especially of how we finished out the match," Augustus added.

The Bears next play in Arizona, as they take on the Arizona Wildcats on March 30 in Tucson and the Arizona State Sun Devils on March 31 in Tempe in Pac-12 matches.
