SALT LAKE CITY – Stephane Lin clinched No. 8/14 California's eventual 4-3 win at Utah on Sunday, when the Golden Bears played indoors for the second straight match due to rain.
 
The Golden Bear senior topped Taylor Calton, 6-3, 6-4, at court-six singles to give Cal a match-clinching 4-1 lead over the Utes at the Eccles Tennis Center. The Bears dropped the last two singles matches on 10-point tiebreakers for the final 4-3 result.
 
Cal's record improved to 11-3 (5-1 in the Pac-12), while Utah fell to 7-6 (3-4 Pac-12).
 
In Cal's 6-1 win at Colorado on Friday, the Bears also played indoors due to rain in Boulder.

The Bears got singles wins from the seventh-ranked Karla Popovic, with the junior beating Utah's Brianna Turley, 6-4, 6-4, on court two, and 45th-ranked senior Maegan Manasse, whose opponent, Margo Pletcher, retired while trailing 6-3, 1-0 to the Cal star on court one.
 
Earlier, Cal took the doubles point when Popovic and sophomore Olivia Hauger defeated Calton and Jena Cheng, 7-6, on court two.
 
"It was a good end to the weekend," Cal head coach Amanda Augustus said. "We ended up indoors again due to rain, but it was something we adjusted to well. Overall we worked our way through our matches. I didn't feel we served particularly well this weekend, but we will work on that when we get home.
 
"It was great to see Stephane clinch the match today. That was exciting."
 
The Bears come home to the Hellman Tennis Center to host Sacramento State on Wednesday in their last nonconference dual match of the regular season.
