BURLINGAME, Calif. – The talented California pair of Filip Bergevi and Florian Lakat posted a straight-set win in the $25,000 Burlingame Futures USTA Pro Circuit tournament doubles round of 16 on Monday on the indoor courts at the Broadway Tennis Center.
 
The Golden Bear seniors – who won the collegiate doubles title at the Saint Francis Health System All-American championships this fall – beat Nicholas Reyes and Matt Seeberger, 7-6(4), 6-1, in Burlingame. The 2016 All-Americans will next take on Michael Zhu and Mico Santiago in the quarterfinals on Tuesday not before 2 p.m.
 
Cal sophomore Gunther Matta and freshman Bjorn Hoffman had hoped to join their teammates in the quarters, but the Bears lost to Stanford's Tom Fawcett and Michael Genender, 6-4, 6-4, on Monday.
 
The singles main draw begins on Tuesday, though Lakat, senior Andre Goransson, junior Billy Griffith and sophomore Gunther Matta will make their main draw singles debuts on Wednesday at the BTC.
