MALIBU, Calif. ? Klara Fabikova reached her second straight singles final in Southern California, as the California senior won her quarterfinal and semifinal matches on Saturday in the consolation bracket at the Oracle/ITA Masters. She will face the sixth-ranked Stephanie Wagner from Miami (Fla.) for the title on Sunday at 10 a.m.

Ranked 16th nationally, Fabikova upset Vanderbilt's seventh-ranked Sydney Campbell in the quarters, 7-6(6), 6-1, and then knocked off Mississippi State's 23rd-ranked Jasmine Lee, 6-1, 6-3, in the semis. The last time she played Campbell, Fabikova wound up with a season-ending loss in singles, as the Commodore beat her in straight sets in the 2015 NCAA singles round of 64.

“Klara had a fantastic day and played very well in both her matches,” Cal head coach Amanda Augustus said. “She had a great day, beating a player she lost to at the NCAA championships and then beat jasmine Lee, who's also got a pretty good ranking.”

In her last tournament in Southern California, Fabikova ran off four victories to reach the Pac-12 Championship final last April in Ojai.

Juniors Maegan Manasse and Denise Starr attempted to join their teammate in Sunday finals in Malibu, but Manasse lost in the main draw singles semis, and the pair of Starr and Manasse fell in the main draw doubles semis.

In her first match of the day, Manasse ? seeded No. 1 and ranked fourth ? topped Pepperdine's Luisa Stefani, 7-5, 6-2, in the singles quarterfinals. But she ran into Virginia's fourth-seeded and eighth-ranked Danielle Collins in the semis and lost, 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-4. Collins was the 2014 NCAA singles champion, who beat current Cal senior Lynn Chi in the national final.

“Maegan had a good first match and came up a couple points short against the 2014 NCAA champion,” Augustus said.

Ranked third and seeded No. 1 in the doubles field, Starr and Manasse began their semi at roughly 9:45 p.m. against Kentucky's ninth-ranked Mami Adachi and Aldila Sutjiadi. That same Wildcat duo lost to Cal's Fabikova and Zsofi Susanyi in the 2015 NCAA doubles round of 16. This time, it was the Bears falling to the Wildcats, 7-6(3), 6-3, in what was the last match of the night in Malibu.
