Andrews and Konigsfeldt Win Back-draw Final

TULSA, Okla. - The fifth-ranked California men's tennis doubles team of senior Nick Andrews and junior Christoffer Konigsfeldt claimed their fourth consecutive victory in an 8-5 win against Ohio State's Devin McCarthy and Ille Van Engelen to secure the doubles back-draw title in the 2011 ITA Men's All-American Tennis Championships at the Michael D. Case Center on Sun., Oct. 9.

The Golden Bears took out North Carolina's sixth-ranked duo of Brennan Boyajian and Jose Hernandez, 8-4, in the semifinal, and claimed an 8-6 win against Baylor's No. 23-ranked team of Marko Krickovic and Roberto Maytin in the quarterfinal.

After they were eliminated from the main draw, Andrews and Konigsfeldt rebounded with a 9-8 win (11-9 in the tiebreaker) over Kentucky's 19th-ranked team of Alex Musialek and Eric Quigley in their doubles consolation first-round match.
