Women's Tennis Ends Run at All-American

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - The 13th-ranked California women's tennis doubles team of senior Jana Juricova and sophomore Anett Schutting was upended, 8-4, in the doubles consolation quarterfinals of the 2011 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Tennis Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club on Sat., Oct. 8, to end the Golden Bears' stay at the annual collegiate grand slam tournament.

The Cal duo fell to Virginia's ninth-ranked team of Lindsey Hardenbergh and Erin Vierra, 8-4, after receiving a bye through the first round of the doubles back draw. Hardenbergh and Vierra took out Pepperdine's 14th-ranked team of Ale Granillo and Khunpak Issara in the preceding round to advance, and moved on to the consolation final.
