Rain Forces Cancellation of Gael Classic

MORAGA, Calif. - The final day of the 2010 Gael Classic has been cancelled due to inclement weather conditions, head coach Peter Wright announced on Sunday, Nov. 7. 34 matches were schedule to be played at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex, including a singles semifinal match for freshman Ben McLachlan.

The cancellation of the tournament's final day signifies the end of fall play for the Golden Bears. Cal will host the first-annual Ricksen Cup Pro-Am fundraiser at the Claremont Country Club on Sunday, Nov. 14. The Bears will open dual matches with a 4 p.m. PT bout at Tulsa in Tulsa, Okla. on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011.
