TULSA, Okla. - The California men's tennis team completed play in the 2010 D'Novo/ITA All-American Tennis Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center as the Golden Bears' doubles teams were each eliminated from contention on Friday, Oct. 8.
Cal's tandem of senior Jonathan Dahan and junior Nick Andrews had their three-match winning streak cut short when they ran into Stanford's second-seeded and No. 2-ranked team of Bradley Klahn and Ryan Thacher in the doubles main draw round of 16. Klahn and Thacher secured their spot in the quarterfinal as they defeated the Bears, 8-1.
After being eliminated in the first round, the Bears' duo of senior Pedro Zerbini and sophomore Christoffer Konigsfeldt drew a match against Matt Allare and Shuhei Uzawa of Ohio State in the back-draw round of 16. The Buckeye pair proved to be too much for the Bears as they came away with an 8-3 win.
Semifinal matches will be played on Saturday, Oct. 9. Championship matches in both the singles and doubles main draws will be played on Sunday, Oct. 10. Please visit www.itatennis.com for complete information, schedules, draws and results.
