STANFORD, Calif. - Eighth-seeded California women's tennis sophomore Annie Goransson advanced to the singles round of 16 in the 2010 USTA/ITA Northwest Regional Championship on Sunday, Oct. 24, at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

Goransson defeated Alexa Lee of Cal Poly, 6-2, 7-5, in the round of 32 to join third-seeded and No. 16-ranked senior Mari Andersson and 15th-seeded sophomore Tayler Davis in the next round.

In doubles play, the top-ranked and top-seeded duo of Andersson and junior Jana Juricova moved into the quarterfinals with an 8-0 win over Kelly Lamble and Maggie McGeorge of Oregon in the round of 16. Their next opponent is yet to be determined.
